{"id":2691,"date":"2021-11-23T14:18:17","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T14:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mobilemall.co\/blog\/?p=2691"},"modified":"2023-05-10T11:27:14","modified_gmt":"2023-05-10T11:27:14","slug":"amazon-apple-issued-fines-by-italy-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mobilemall.co\/blog\/amazon-apple-issued-fines-by-italy-government\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon &#038; Apple Issued Fines By Italy Government"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The antitrust authority of Italy has issued fines of Amazon EUR68.7 million , and Apple EUR134.5 millions for anticompetitive behavior.&nbsp;Both companies are expected to appeal the penalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue is the agreement signed that was signed between Amazon and Apple in 2018 that permitted <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilemall.co\/amazon\">only Amazon<\/a> and selected resellers to offer Apple or Beats items through Amazon Italy.&nbsp;Furthermore, there were restrictions in place for cross-border sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Italian authorities claim that the reduction in competition has led to less price competition and lowered the amount of discounts offered by third party companies.&nbsp;These deals are in violation of EU regulations (&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=LEGISSUM%3Al26114\" rel=\"nofollow\">Article 101<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to paying the fine, both companies have to give each retailer that <strong>sells authentic Apple or Beats products be allowed<\/strong> access to Amazon.it.
