Go easy on the word “confirms” here. Yes, Apple’s fifth iOS 27 developer beta landed yesterday with references to six unreleased iPhones buried inside it. But what’s actually written in those files is a set of internal identifiers, nothing else: V62, V63, V64, V67, V68 and V69. No marketing names anywhere.
The names get attached by matching those identifiers against older leaks and the internal codes Mark Gurman has used in his Bloomberg reporting. Line them up and you get:
- V62 – iPhone Air 2
- V63 – iPhone 18 Pro
- V64 – iPhone 18 Pro Max
- V67 – iPhone 18
- V68 – iPhone Ultra, the foldable one
- V69 – iPhone 18e
Where they turned up is the interesting part. All six sit in battery driver and Battery Intelligence components, right next to identifiers for iPhones already on sale, which is roughly what you’d expect if Apple were teaching iOS the power-management behaviour of hardware still in development. Earlier betas in this cycle already exposed foldable display support and hinge angle detection, plus dual-battery handling. Every one of those points at V68.

What the beta can’t tell you is timing, and AppleInsider makes the fair point that this list is not a September announcement roster. Current expectation: iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and the Ultra next month, with the iPhone 18, 18e and Air 2 held back until early 2027. First run at Apple’s split release calendar, so treat the second half of that schedule as the part most likely to move.
