itel teased this one for weeks, and now it’s out in India. The A300C sells for ₹10,999, roughly $115, and the pitch is simple: a phone you can drop without flinching, with a battery big enough to forget about the charger.
What the Military Certification Actually Covers
The A300C carries MIL-STD-810H certification, which means it went through drop testing. What it does not mean is waterproofing, because itel hasn’t given the phone an official IP rating for dust or water. So it’ll survive falling off a table. Rain is a gamble. Softening that a bit, itel throws in free screen replacement for the first 100 days after purchase, and a case comes in the box along with the charger.
The Battery Is the Real Selling Point
6,000mAh in a budget phone is generous, and paired with Android 16 Go Edition on a 720p screen, this should comfortably clear two days of ordinary use. Charging is 18W over USB-C, which is slow by 2026 standards but normal at this price.
Screen, Cameras and the Bits People Actually Miss
The display is a 6.56-inch LCD at 720 x 1,612 with a 90Hz refresh rate, so scrolling feels smoother than the usual 60Hz panel at this money. Cameras are modest: 8MP on the back, 5MP in the notch for selfies. Storage is where it gets interesting, because 64GB sounds cramped until you realise the microSD slot takes cards up to 2TB. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack, DTS-tuned speaker, an IR blaster, and the fingerprint reader sits in the power button.
The 4G-Only Modem Is the Catch
The Unisoc T7100 chipset here is the same one in the itel A90, and its modem tops out at 4G, so there’s no 5G at all. India hasn’t announced a 4G shutdown date, so nothing breaks tomorrow. But carriers are pouring money into 5G right now, and buying a 4G-only phone in 2026 means accepting it will age faster than it needs to.
