OnePlus has pulled out of North America and Europe, and India is now where the budget push is happening. Another phone is reportedly close.
The phone is a 4G-only model made for India alone
Tipster Yogesh Brar posted on X that OnePlus is preparing a budget 4G handset that will sell in India and nowhere else. Every other OnePlus phone in the country this year has shipped with 5G, so this would be the first 4G-only launch of 2026 for the brand.

Brar expects it in September, closing out OnePlus’ year
The launch could come as early as next month, and it is said to be the company’s final phone release of the year in India. No specs, no name, no price came with the tip. OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the phone exists.
It most likely joins the N series, below the N6x
The N series is the budget line OnePlus started in June, sitting at roughly Rs 18,000 to Rs 25,000 while Nord covers Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 and the flagships go above that. A 4G-only phone would land at the bottom of that range, probably as a cut-down version of the N6x. Dropping 5G is the standard way to shave cost in this segment.
Here’s what the N6x it would sit under offers
The N6x runs a Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset, a 6.8-inch LCD screen, a 7,000mAh battery and a single 13MP rear camera. Anything positioned below it would have to cut somewhere, and 4G is the obvious place to start.
Worth remembering that Brar has been ahead of OnePlus India news all year, including the N series itself back in June, so the tip carries weight. Still a rumour until OnePlus says otherwise.
