YouTube Finally Lets You Kill Shorts Entirely

YouTube’s been testing screen time tools for a while, but Shorts always had this floor — minimum 15 minutes. You couldn’t go below it. If you wanted to cut yourself off entirely, you were out of luck.

That changed. A 0-minute option is now rolling out in the Shorts Feed limit timer, which effectively kills the feed completely. iOS and Android both.

To find it: Settings → Time management → Shorts Feed limit timer. Set it to zero, and the Shorts tab becomes a dead end — tap it, and you get a “time limit reached” message instead of the feed loading.

Worth noting, this isn’t a new feature category, just a new option added to something that already existed. The time management tools were already there. Someone just finally thought to add zero as a valid number.
