Oppo launched the Find X10, Find X10 E and Find X10 Pro Max in China yesterday. Today its UK store is already taking deposits, even though not one of these phones has been officially announced for Britain.
What The £49 Deposit Actually Gets You
Put down £49 and you lock in £150 off the Find X10 or £200 off the Find X10 Pro Max, plus one free gift of your choosing: a Hasselblad teleconverter kit, an Oppo Watch X3, or an Oppo Pad 5. The teleconverter is the interesting one, since it pushes the camera to 20x lossless zoom and Oppo normally sells that kind of accessory separately. Same deal is running across Europe at €49.
The Catch Is That No One Knows The Price
Here’s the part worth sitting with. Oppo has not published UK pricing, and it has not given a launch date either, so you’re agreeing to £150 off a number the company hasn’t told you. A discount is only a discount against a price. Deposit first, find out later.
There is one bit of cover. Oppo promises that if the Black Friday price ends up lower than what you paid, it refunds the difference. That takes the worst outcome off the table, though it doesn’t tell you what you’re spending in the meantime.
Colours And Storage Are Already Listed
The UK store has the configurations up. The Find X10 comes in Glacier Blue, Mist Grey and Glow Coral with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The Find X10 Pro Max gets Titanium Grey and Luna White, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB only. No sign of the Find X10 E, which was always expected to stay in China.
Should You Put The Deposit Down?
If you were buying a Find X10 anyway, the maths works out. Pete Lau has confirmed the Pro Max is going global, so the phone is coming, and £200 plus a free watch or tablet is real money. If you’re only half sure, wait for the UK announcement. The deal will almost certainly still be running, and by then you’ll know what the phone costs.
