Most phones at this price ask you to be careful with them. Tecno is selling the opposite idea with the Spark Go 3 Pro, launched in India today, seven months after the plain Spark Go.
The headline feature is an IP69 rating, which is rare below $200
IP69 means the phone is built to take high-pressure water jets and heavy dust, and Tecno has added IP68 and an SGS drop-resistance certification on top of it. Tecno calls it a first for the segment, and at this price that claim holds up. Most budget phones stop at IP54 splash resistance, if they bother at all.
Tecno is aiming this at people who work outdoors, not at spec chasers
The company’s own pitch names delivery riders in the rain, farmers checking prices in the field, and students packed onto buses. CEO Arijeet Talapatra put it plainly, saying a phone is a work tool rather than a luxury for millions of people, and the point is that nobody should have to baby it. The marketing sits under Tecno’s “Desh Jaisa Dumdaar” campaign.
The screen, battery and audio are decent for the money
You get a 120Hz HD+ LCD, a 5,200 mAh battery with 15W charging over USB-C, DTS stereo speakers and an IR blaster. There’s also AI Voiceprint Noise Cancellation for calls in loud places, which is the kind of feature that either works or doesn’t, and reviews will settle that.
What Tecno left out of the press release tells you something
No chipset. No camera details. Third-party listings point to a Unisoc T7250 with 4GB of RAM and a single 13MP rear camera, none of it confirmed by Tecno. Companies don’t hide strong specs. Treat the durability as the reason to buy this and the performance as the compromise you’re making for it.
Price and sale date
The 4GB/64GB model is INR 15,999 (about $168) and the 4GB/128GB is INR 16,999 (about $178). Sales start 4 September through Amazon, Flipkart and offline stores.
