Poco has stopped teasing and put a date on it. The Poco X8 and X8 Power both land in India on September 4, and the company led its announcement with the battery number rather than anything else.
The launch is set for 12 PM IST on September 4, through Flipkart
Poco confirmed the date on X and in promotional material run with Flipkart. Both the X8 and the X8 Power go official at midday India time, with pricing revealed at the event. No prices have leaked yet, so treat any figure circulating online as guesswork.
The X8 Power carries a 10,000mAh battery, the largest Poco has shipped
Poco says the 10,000mAh cell delivers roughly 3.5 days on one charge, and it’s the biggest battery the brand has put in a phone. The teaser shows the phone in Poco’s yellow finish with a textured rear panel and a dual camera module inside a squircle island.
What makes the number more interesting is the thickness. Leaks put the X8 Power at 8.68mm despite the battery, which is normal-phone territory rather than the brick you might expect.
Leaked specs point to a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and 100W charging
Tipsters Sanju Choudhary and Debayan Roy have both posted spec sheets. The X8 Power is expected to bring a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED at 120Hz, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage on higher variants, a 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultrawide, a 32MP selfie camera, 100W wired charging with 27W reverse, and IP68 and IP69 ratings. Four Android upgrades and six years of security patches are also claimed.
The standard X8 sits below it with a 9,000mAh battery
The cheaper X8 is tipped for a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, the same 6.83-inch AMOLED, a 9,000mAh battery and 67W charging. Still a large cell by any normal measure, just not the headline one.
Both phones are rebadged Redmi models
Leaks indicate the X8 is a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro, while the X8 Power is the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max under a different name. Minor differences between the Poco and Redmi versions are expected. Poco has confirmed none of the specs above, so the September 4 event is where they get settled.
