Two Brands, One Roof: OnePlus and Realme Are Reportedly Merging

A report out of China is pointing to something that’s been quietly building for a while — OnePlus and Realme are merging into a single entity. The tipster behind this is Digital Chat Station, who says the two brands will now operate under OnePlus China president Li Jie, with Li reporting up to Pete Lau.

Both brands keeping their names publicly while sharing everything behind the scenes — product development, strategy, software roadmaps, launch timing, marketing, services. Wang Wei, formerly Realme’s VP, steps in as deputy general manager under the new structure.

It’s a significant internal shake-up even if nothing visibly changes on store shelves. These two have always had overlapping DNA — both grew out of OPPO’s orbit, both chased different ends of the market with hardware that came off the same assembly lines half the time anyway. Formalizing that relationship at the operational level isn’t shocking, but it does raise questions about where each brand goes from here in terms of actual product identity.

Neither company has said a word about it officially.
