Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: What Its Three 200MP Cameras Actually Do

Oppo has now put numbers to the Find X10 Pro Max camera system it teased last week. Three 200MP sensors, all detailed in a Weibo post, and the one worth starting with isn’t the main camera.

The ultrawide is the real first here

Almost every flagship on sale treats the ultrawide as the throwaway lens, usually 50MP and often much less. Oppo has put a 200MP sensor in it, with an f/2.2 aperture and a 124-degree field of view, and claims it pulls in 102% more light than the ultrawide on the Find X9 Pro. No phone has shipped a 200MP ultrawide before. Doubling the light collection is the part that actually matters for group shots indoors, where ultrawides normally fall apart.

The main camera claims 17EV of dynamic range

It’s a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPC sensor at 1/1.3 inches, f/1.5, with DeepPix technology and CIPA 6.5 stabilisation. For context, most flagship phones sit around 14EV, and a Sony A7 V mirrorless body manages roughly 16EV. Oppo is claiming a number above a full frame camera, which is the sort of figure that needs a real test before anyone believes it.

The periscope is stabilised better than the main camera

The third 200MP sensor is a periscope telephoto at f/2.1 with CIPA 7.5 stabilisation, a step above the main camera’s rating. It also supports telephoto macro down to about 10cm, so close-up shots keep the optical zoom rather than switching to a lesser lens.

All three shoot 8K, and there are two more sensors on board

Oppo confirmed 8K video on every rear camera. A 3MP multispectral sensor handles colour accuracy across mixed lighting, and the front camera is 50MP with autofocus.

What Oppo still hasn’t said

No price, and no confirmed date beyond September in China. Global availability is expected around late October.
