Oppo’s Reno17 series is expected in China next month, and tipster Digital Chat Station has now posted the main specs of the Reno17 Pro. Anyone who looked at this year’s global Reno16 Pro will recognise most of them.
Same Screen And Chip As The Global Reno16 Pro
The Reno17 Pro is said to use a 6.32-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, running on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 Super. That matches the global Reno16 Pro exactly. The Chinese Reno16 Pro was a different phone altogether, with a 6.78-inch screen and the Dimensity 9500s, so the comparison only holds for the version sold outside China.
The Camera Setup Carries Over Too
According to the leak, the back of the phone will have:
- A 200MP main camera with a large sensor and gimbal-style stabilisation
- A 50MP ultrawide
- A 50MP periscope telephoto
- A 50MP selfie camera on the front
Periscope lenses are still uncommon on phones this compact, although the global Reno16 Pro already had one, so it isn’t new for Oppo either.
The Battery Is Where It Changes
The Reno17 Pro is tipped to carry a battery of around 7,000mAh, which would be a step up from the 6,700mAh cell in the global Reno16 Pro and the 6,000mAh one Oppo put in the European model. For a phone with a 6.32-inch screen, that’s a large battery. Charging speeds haven’t leaked yet.
What Else Oppo Is Said To Be Adding
A second tipster, Smart Pikachu, says the Reno17 range will lean on design and 200MP cameras, with new tools for live photos, live video and photo editing. The dedicated AI button stays. The same source claimed earlier that Oppo was looking at teleconverter support for the Reno17 line, which so far has only been offered on the Find X series.
When And Where It Launches
The Reno17 series is expected to launch in China in November, running ColorOS 17 on Android 17. An India launch could follow by early January 2027, though the Pro model may not make that trip. In China it will be up against the Honor 700 series and the vivo S70 range, and both of those are also due next month.
None of this is confirmed by Oppo yet, so treat the specs as a leak until the launch event.
