Samsung has given the Galaxy F70 5G a date. A Flipkart microsite went live today confirming the phone launches in India on October 18, starting at INR 1X,XXX, which puts it somewhere under INR 20,000, or roughly $225. It’s the third F70 model this year, after the F70e in February and the F70 Pro in August, and it turned up on Google’s Play supported devices list just last week under model number SM-E176E.
What Samsung Has Confirmed So Far

Flipkart’s page gives away most of the hardware already:
- FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch and Gorilla Glass Victus
- Exynos 1330 chipset
- 50MP main camera with OIS (Samsung is calling it the “No Shake Cam”), a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro
- 13MP selfie camera
- 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging
- 7.5mm thick, dust and splash resistant
- Vivid Violet and Bold Black
The software list covers Circle to Search, Gemini, Samsung Wallet with Tap and Pay, Quick Share, Voice Focus and Knox. Samsung also makes a point of saying the F series is designed and made in India.
This Is A Galaxy A17 5G With A Different Name
That Play listing carried the codename “a17x”, and once Flipkart’s specs went up the match was hard to miss. Every confirmed detail lines up with the Galaxy A17 5G, down to the 7.5mm body and the same three-camera layout, so the F70 5G looks to be a Flipkart rebrand of a phone Samsung first sold over a year ago. Samsung did the same thing earlier this year when the F70e arrived as a renamed Galaxy A07 5G.
If the A17 copy holds all the way through, buyers should also get:
- 6.7-inch 1080×2340 display at 90Hz
- Up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage
- Six major Android OS upgrades, which is the strongest reason to pick it over similarly priced rivals
Where It Fits On Price
The F70e started at INR 13,999 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the F70 Pro was tipped around INR 32,999 before launch. The F70 5G slides into the gap between them, and since it’s carrying older A17 hardware, the final number on October 18 will decide whether it’s good value or just a year-old phone in a new box.
