Samsung Says Its Exynos 2700 Is 20% Faster Than The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max

Samsung has now tested its Galaxy S27 chip against a phone people can buy today. The Exynos 2700 went up against the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and its Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in internal testing, and according to the report it came out ahead on both CPU and graphics.

The Exynos 2700 Scored Around 13,000 To The Snapdragon’s 11,000

In Geekbench 6.5 multi-core, the Exynos 2700 scored about 13,000 points against roughly 11,000 for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, close to a 20% lead. On the newer Geekbench 7.0 the margin came down to about 15%.

The regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 inside the Xiaomi 18 Pro did much worse in the same tests:

  • Geekbench 6.5 multi-core: Exynos ahead by 44%
  • Geekbench 7.0 multi-core: Exynos ahead by 36%

Samsung’s August Numbers Were Much Smaller

Back in August, reports from Yonhap and SEDaily put the Exynos 2700 just 9.5% ahead of the Extreme chip in Geekbench 6.5, measured against Qualcomm silicon that hadn’t launched yet. This time the comparison used a retail Xiaomi phone, and the gap has roughly doubled. One detail from those earlier leaks is worth keeping in mind. Qualcomm’s top chip is said to run 8 CPU cores while the Exynos has 10, so a multi-core score was always going to favour Samsung a little.

Graphics Went Samsung’s Way Too

In games built on the newest graphics features, the Exynos 2700 reportedly reached about 20% higher peak performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. On ordinary high-end 3D games the lead dropped to around 5%. Samsung hasn’t said which games were used or how long each run lasted, so how the chip holds up once it gets hot is still unknown.

You Should Wait For A Retail Galaxy S27 Before Trusting These Results

Samsung designed the chip and also ran the test, so these are a company’s own numbers about its own product. The Exynos 2700 is expected to be built on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2nm process (SF2P), with improved Heat Path Block packaging meant to keep temperatures down, aimed at the throttling complaints older Exynos chips picked up.

The Exynos 2600 currently powers some Galaxy S26 models and the Galaxy Z Flip8. The Galaxy S27 series is due early next year, with the Exynos 2700 in at least some models. Independent tests on shop-bought units will show how fast it really is and, more usefully, how long the battery lasts on a normal day.
