Vivo S50 Series Specs Leak

Vivo released the S30 and S30 Pro mini in May 2025. Leaks now show the S50 series coming next. They skipped S40 because of tetraphobia in China—number 4 sounds like death, so companies avoid it. Details came out in late October 2025.

Why the number skip

Phone makers in China often jump over numbers with 4. Tetraphobia is the fear of 4 because it sounds like the word for death in Chinese. After S30, S50 is next. Leaks from supply chains or prototypes gave these details.

Screen info

S50 Pro mini keeps 6.31-inch screen from S30 Pro mini. S50 goes to 6.59 inches from S30’s 6.67 inches. Both have 1.5K resolution—about 1260 x 2800 pixels, better than Full HD but not 2K. Screens are flat, no edge curves, which cuts down on wrong touches.

Frame and camera

S50 has metal frame for strength. It includes periscope telephoto camera like on high-end phones—lens folds inside with mirrors for zoom without thick body. S50 Pro mini said to have top hardware all around, but no more details yet. Earlier leak says three back cameras, one periscope for zoom.

Chip and sensor

From past leaks, S50 Pro mini uses MediaTek Dimensity 9400—2025 chip on 3nm process for speed and low power use. Has ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under screen—uses sound waves for fast unlocks, works with wet fingers. No battery or charge details out.

When it comes out

More leaks could add colors, battery size, software.
