Vivo X500 Series Is Expected In India By Late November

China got the vivo X500 series on 21 September, a handful of global markets have it now, and India looks set to follow towards the end of November according to a new report. All three phones are tipped for the Indian launch: the vivo X500, the X500 Pro and the X500 Pro Max.

India Has Usually Waited A Few Weeks Longer

Vivo X500 In India launch

Going by vivo’s own record, a late November date fits. Last year the X300 and X300 Pro reached India on 2 December, some weeks after their China debut. The year before that, the X200 Pro mini never left China at all, so Indian buyers got two models out of three.

This time the full trio is expected to come over, Pro Max included. vivo itself hasn’t confirmed a date or a lineup for India so far, so treat late November as the report’s estimate until a teaser page goes up on vivo India’s site.

The Indian Models Should Match The China Specs

The report says vivo won’t change the hardware for India. Going by the China versions:

  • vivo X500: Dimensity 9600M chipset
  • vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max: Dimensity 9600 Pro
  • Main camera: 50MP on all three
  • Telephoto: 64MP periscope on the X500 and X500 Pro, 200MP on the Pro Max
  • Software: OriginOS 7, built on Android 17

The 200MP telephoto is what sets the Pro Max apart from its two siblings, and for anyone buying a vivo for the zoom, that alone would justify waiting a month.

China Prices Give A Rough Idea Of Cost

Indian pricing hasn’t been announced. In China, though, the vivo X500 starts at CNY 5,499 (about $770), the X500 Pro at CNY 6,499 (about $910) and the Pro Max at CNY 6,999 (about $980). Indian prices normally come in higher once import duty and GST are added, so expect the final figures to sit above these conversions.
