New Realme Phone Leak Clashes With The OnePlus 16R Camera Rumor

Two leaks landed on the same day about what looks like one phone, and they don’t agree on the camera. The first came from tipster Yogesh Brar, who shared details of a OnePlus 16R test unit with a triple 50MP rear camera and said the same hardware was also being tested under the Realme brand. A few hours later, a second tipster described that Realme phone very differently.

The Second Leak Says 200MP Main Camera And No Ultrawide

According to the second tipster, the Realme phone runs a 200MP main camera paired with a 50MP telephoto at 3.5x optical zoom, and he states plainly that it does not have a triple 50MP setup. There’s no ultrawide in his version at all, which is an unusual thing to drop on a phone at this level.

His description matches what has been circulating for weeks about the OnePlus Ace 7, which has repeatedly leaked with a 200MP main sensor and a 3.5x periscope. The camera island is said to look close to the one on the Realme 16 Pro+, which already uses that same 200MP and 3.5x pairing.

What Else The Realme Phone Reportedly Has

The rest of the spec sheet reads like a gaming phone more than a camera phone:

  • Display: 1.5K flat OLED, up to 185Hz in some games, with the system interface running at 165Hz
  • Chip: a Snapdragon 8-series processor, reportedly able to run BGMI at 120fps and Call of Duty at 165fps
  • Battery: 8,700mAh typical capacity
  • Build: metal frame and flat glass back
  • Extras: a built-in cooling fan and a circular RGB light on the back, similar to the ring flash vivo has used on some of its phones

Why The Two Leaks Could Both Be Pointing At OnePlus

The tipster says the phone could end up as a Realme model or as the OnePlus 16R for India. It could quite easily be both. Realme and OnePlus both sit under Oppo, and they have shared hardware before, so one phone launching under two names in different markets would not be unusual.

The camera question matters more than it sounds for the 16R in particular. The OnePlus 15R shipped without a dedicated telephoto, and buyers complained about it, so whichever version turns out to be true, a zoom lens coming back looks likely.

Which Camera Setup Is Right

OnePlus 16R

The only thing both leaks agree on is that a telephoto is coming. One says three 50MP sensors, the other says a 200MP main plus a 3.5x zoom with no ultrawide. Neither OnePlus nor Realme has confirmed anything, and with test units clearly in circulation, more leaks should settle it before either phone is announced.
