Motorola is preparing to follow up last year’s Moto G55 with its successor, the Moto G56. The device recently surfaced in what appears to be an official render, accompanied by a complete specs sheet that gives a good sense of what to expect.
According to the leak, the Moto G56 features a 6.72-inch LCD display with a 1080×2400 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,000 nits peak brightness. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, pointing to a more durable build compared to its predecessor.

On the camera front, the phone sports a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8 aperture) sourced from Sony’s Lytia LYT-600, paired with an 8MP ultrawide (f/2.2 aperture), and a significantly upgraded 32MP front camera (f/2.2 aperture), a clear bump over the G55’s selfie shooter.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset and offers two RAM variants — 4GB and 8GB, along with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is available for expansion. The 5,200mAh battery supports 33W fast wired charging, delivering a modest increase in capacity from the G55.
Durability appears to be a priority. The phone is IP68 and IP69 certified for water and dust resistance and is MIL-STD-810H rated, indicating it’s built to withstand tough environments. Stereo speakers are also onboard, rounding out the multimedia package.

It runs on Android 15, with different update policies depending on the configuration. The 4GB RAM version will receive one major Android update and three years of bi-monthly security updates. The 8GB variant gets two major OS upgrades and four years of bi-monthly security updates, offering better long-term software support.
In terms of dimensions, the G56 measures 165.75 x 76.26 x 8.35 mm and weighs 200 grams, keeping the size and weight fairly balanced for a mid-range device.
Color options include Pantone Black Oyster, Pantone Gray Mist, Pantone Dazzling Blue, and Pantone Dill, showing Motorola’s continued partnership with Pantone for distinctive finishes.
Compared to the G55, this model brings noticeable improvements in display size, selfie camera resolution, and battery capacity — all while maintaining a rugged build and balanced feature set. The Moto G56 is shaping up to be a solid refresh in the company’s mid-range lineup.
