Oppo released its flagship phone, the A77, in May 2017. It had 4G connectivity. Now, Oppo has announced a 5G version of the phone with a new look and better specs.
The Oppo A77 5G has a 6.56″ HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The screen shows 100% of the DCI P3 color range and has an 8MP selfie camera. This is a step down from the 16MP camera on the 4G model.
On the back, there’s a rectangular camera area with two flash LEDs and two cameras. The main camera is 48MP, and there’s a 2MP depth camera. The main camera can also take 108MP photos using some software tricks.
The back of the phone has Oppo’s Glow design, which the company says is scratch-resistant and wear-resistant.
It’s powered by the Dimensity 810 SoC and runs ColorOS 12.1 out of the box. Oppo hasn’t said which version of Android the phone uses, but it’s probably Android 12.
The A77 5G has 6GB of RAM that can be virtually expanded to 5GB. It also has 128GB of storage and a microSD slot for more space.
The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging. It can charge 53% in 30 minutes and 100% in 69 minutes.
Other features of the Oppo A77 5G include IPX4 water resistance, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers for an immersive audio experience.
The Oppo A77 5G comes in Ocean Blue and Midnight Black colors. It is expected to cost around Rs. 58,999 in Pakistan (currently not launched in Pakistan) and has been priced at $290/EUR270 in Thailand. The phone will be available in Thailand on June 10th, but it’s not clear when it will be released in other countries.
