OPPO has officially revealed its flagship smartphone for 2025 the Find X8 Ultra. This model builds on the foundation laid by last year’s Find X7 Ultra, offering refinements across design, hardware, battery capacity, and camera performance. The launch was accompanied by unveiling the Find X8s and X8s+, which will be discussed separately.

The Find X8 Ultra introduces a slimmer profile at 8.78mm, compared to 9.5mm on the previous model. Despite the thinner build, the device maintains a durable frame, achieving IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, along with SGS five-star drop resistance certification.
The display remains unchanged from its predecessor, which appears to be a strategic decision. It features a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED panel with 10-bit color depth, a variable 1–120Hz refresh rate, a 3168×1440 resolution, and peak brightness of up to 1600 nits—specs that continue to meet flagship standards.
Internally, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Memory configurations go up to 16GB of LPDDR5X-9600 RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The software experience is delivered through ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.
One of the most practical upgrades is the battery. The Find X8 Ultra now includes a 6,100mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is nearly 20% larger than the previous generation. Fast charging is retained with 100W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, along with 10W reverse wireless charging support.

Color options include Matte Black, Pure White, and Shell Pink—all with a soft matte finish applied to both the glass and metal frame. OPPO has added two new hardware controls: a customizable Shortcut button located on the upper left side, and a Quick button positioned on the bottom right, mainly used for camera access.
The main camera setup keeps the 50MP 1-inch Sony LYT900 sensor, which remains one of the largest sensors found in any smartphone today. OPPO claims it is significantly larger than the main cameras in rival flagships like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The 3x zoom lens has been upgraded to a 70mm focal length with a brighter f/2.1 aperture and a 50MP LYT700 sensor. OPPO states that this sensor is more than double the size of the one found in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s zoom lens and substantially larger than Samsung’s counterpart.

The 6x telephoto lens now features a 135mm focal length, a wider f/3.1 aperture, and a larger LYT600 sensor, all of which contribute to improved long-range clarity. On the other hand, the ultrawide camera has been reduced in sensor size, now featuring a 1/2.75-inch Samsung JN5 behind a 15mm f/2.0 lens. The front-facing camera remains unchanged, offering a 21mm f/2.4 ultrawide lens with autofocus and the LYT506 sensor.
To support image processing, OPPO has introduced the HyperTone Image Engine. This system improves results in challenging lighting conditions through AI tone mapping and ProXDR rendering, aiming for greater depth, color accuracy, and contrast. The phone also supports 4K video at 120fps and includes Dolby Vision recording.
The camera configuration is positioned as a complete imaging solution, with OPPO referring to it as the “Holy Trinity” of lenses. Combined with its processing power and software enhancements, the Find X8 Ultra continues OPPO’s focus on high-end mobile photography.
The device will be available in China starting April 16. Prices are set at CNY 6,499 for the 12GB/256GB model, CNY 6,999 for the 16GB/512GB version, and CNY 7,999 for the 16GB/1TB configuration. Global availability remains unconfirmed at this stage.
