From, India

Back in November, Oppo introduced the Reno13 series in China, and now, these models are gearing up for their global debut. The first market outside China is India, where the launch is set for January 9. As of now, Oppo hasn’t disclosed the pricing details, which adds a bit of suspense to the upcoming release.

Both the Oppo Reno13 and Reno13 Pro are powered by the Dimensity 8350 chipset. They’re built to be tough, boasting an impressive IP69 rating and Gorilla Glass 7i to protect the screen. The Reno13 Pro features a 6.83-inch display, while the standard model has a slightly smaller 6.59-inch screen. Both are equipped with 120Hz 10-bit OLED panels, ensuring smooth and vibrant visuals.

The Pro version definitely steps up in the camera department. The device boasts an upgraded 50MP primary camera with a larger 1/1.56″ sensor, surpassing the standard Reno13’s 1/1.95″ sensor. Plus, a 50MP 85mm telephoto lens offers 3.5x zoom, which is a nice addition for those who like to zoom in for more detail.

When it comes to battery life, the Pro model has a 5,800mAh battery. It supports both 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, giving users more flexibility. On the other hand, the regular Reno13 has a 5,600mAh battery and only supports 80W wired charging. This difference might not be huge for everyone, but for heavy users, the Pro’s extra features could make a difference.

For those in India, the Oppo Reno13 is already listed on Oppo’s online store. It comes in two configurations: 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Color options include Luminous Blue and Ivory White. The Reno13 Pro, on the other hand, offers 12GB of RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, and it’s available in Mist Lavender and Graphite Grey. Both models will officially launch on January 9, and Oppo is offering a sign-up bonus of 5,000 points for those who register for notifications.

Interestingly, the phones are also listed on the Oppo Vietnam site, although the purchase links are not active yet. After the India launch, the Reno13 series, including the Reno13 F models, will expand to several markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Oppo hasn’t provided a specific timeline for this broader rollout.

Shortly after the initial launch in India, Oppo plans to introduce two more models in the Reno13 series: the Reno13 F 5G and Reno13 F 4G. These models are almost identical, with the primary difference being the chipset. The 5G variant is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, while the 4G version uses the Helio G100. The 5G model offers faster UFS 3.1 storage and comes in 8GB and 12GB RAM options, whereas the 4G model sticks with UFS 2.2 storage and 8GB RAM.

Both Reno13 F models feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1080p+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screens provide full coverage of sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces and can hit 1,200 nits of brightness. They’re protected by Dragontrail Star 2 glass, adding an extra layer of durability.

In terms of durability, the Reno13 F phones are rated IP6X for dust resistance and IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 for water resistance. This means they can survive being submerged up to 2 meters for half an hour and can withstand hot water jets.

Camera-wise, both models sport a triple-camera setup on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The front camera is a 32MP shooter. The 5G version supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the 4G model is limited to 1080p.

Both devices have large 5,800mAh batteries that support 45W SuperVOOC Flash Charge, capable of charging from 1% to 44% in 30 minutes. Oppo claims these batteries can retain 80% of their capacity even after four years of use. Color options for the F models include Plume Purple, Graphite Gray, Skyline Blue, and Luminous Blue.

The Reno13 F and Reno13 F 5G will first launch in the Asia-Pacific region, with exact dates and prices yet to be announced. A wider rollout is planned, but details remain under wraps for now.

Overall, Oppo’s Reno13 series is shaping up to be a robust and feature-packed lineup. It’ll be interesting to see how they perform once they hit the international markets.
