Oppo’s wide, non-folding phone has been in the rumour mill since spring, and the numbers keep moving. Tipster Digital Chat Station posted a fresh set this week, and the headline change is the shape of the screen itself. The phone, still going by Reno X, is now said to carry a 16:9 display rather than the 16:10 panel reported back in May.
That matters more than it sounds. 16:9 is the shape phones had around 2016, before everything stretched out to 19.5:9 and 20:9, so this would be a deliberate step back to a squatter, wider slab.
The Screen Grows To 6.5 Inches And The Body Comes In At 85mm
The earlier leak had the panel at 6.3 to 6.4 inches. The new figures push it up:
- Display width of 81mm, with bezels of roughly 1mm on all four sides
- Body width around 85mm
- Screen size now closer to 6.5 inches
Everything else from the spring report still stands for now, meaning a MediaTek Dimensity 9 series chip, a 7,000mAh battery, a 200MP main camera and a periscope telephoto. DCS said at the time that the spec was not final, and the aspect ratio change shows how much is still being decided.
Huawei’s Pura X View Is The Only Phone To Compare It With

Right now there is exactly one wide slab phone on sale, Huawei’s Pura X View, with a 6.36-inch 5:3 display and an 87mm body. Set the two side by side on the rumoured numbers and Oppo’s phone comes out about 2mm narrower and slightly taller, with a flatter 16:9 panel against Huawei’s rounder 5:3. The screen-to-body ratio should be close, since Huawei is also claiming bezels of about 1.05mm.
Oppo’s internal plan, per the earlier leak, is to launch Reno X alongside the Find X10 flagships rather than with the Reno 16 line. Nothing has been confirmed by Oppo itself, so the name and all of the above remain tipster figures until a certification or an official teaser turns up.
