The Realme GT 7 Pro launched in November last year, and now, the next model in the series, the Realme GT 8 Pro, is expected to debut in 2025. Although it’s still about nine months away, there are already some early details circulating about the device.
According to a leak from Smart Pikachu on Weibo, the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature a flat AMOLED display with 2k WQHD+ resolution. It might also include an Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which is more accurate and secure than the optical sensors typically found on smartphones today. If these details are correct, it’s shaping up to be a strong flagship device.
Another exciting update is that the Realme GT 8 Pro could be one of the first devices to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. Realme has continued this trend with the GT 7 Pro, and it looks like the GT 8 Pro will carry on with the latest chipset for improved performance.

Battery life looks like it will also see an upgrade. The Realme GT 8 Pro is tipped to come with a 7000mAh+ battery, which would be impressive. However, there are concerns about the phone’s thickness, especially if Realme sticks with the same Si/C Li-Ion technology. If they can keep it light and slim while packing such a large battery, it could make for a very well-balanced phone—but that could also drive the price up.

Additionally, there are rumors about the Realme GT 8 Pro featuring a periscope camera, which would make it a truly well-rounded flagship if it turns out to be true. The Realme GT 7 Pro is already a powerful phone, and the GT 8 Pro seems like it will take things to the next level with even better performance, battery, and camera specifications.
To recap, the Realme GT 7 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, with a 4.32GHz clock speed and one of the largest cooling chambers we’ve seen in a phone—a 11480mm² VC in split configuration. It also features a Samsung Eco 2 OLED display with 1.5k resolution and 120Hz, plus 16GB of RAM and 120W fast charging with a 6500mAh battery. The GT 8 Pro is expected to push these numbers even further, offering improved performance, better battery life, and enhanced camera capabilities.
Although we’re still missing a few details, I’m looking forward to seeing more information as the launch date approaches. Check back for new info as we near the launch.
