Realme GT Explorer Master & GT Master hands-on review Update:

The company announced two Master edition variants of the Realme GT 5G. They offer a unique feature gap. The Realme GT Master is available, as well as the Realme GT Master Explorer. Yes, that’s quite a mouthful. The GT Master is considered a competent mid ranger, while the Explorer Master is a true flagship killer.

Although the Explorer Master isn’t running on the top-tier Snapdragon 888, it still stands out with a bigger and better display, a better camera setup, and a better build. The standard GT Master is simpler and, aside from its different design and chipsets, it is closely related to the original Realme GT 5G.

Realme GT Explorer Master specs in a glance

    • Memory 128GB 8GB RAM or 256GB 12GB Ram; UFS
    • OS/Software Android 11 Realme UI 2.0
    • Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.9, 24mm, 1/1.56″, 1.0um, omnidirectional PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 16 MP, f/2.2, 14mm, 123@, 1/3.09″, 1.0um; Macro: 2 MP, f/2.4.
    • Front camera: 32 MP, f/2.5, 26mm (wide), 1/2.74″, 0.8um.
    • Video capture: Rear camera 4K@30/60fps; 1080p@30/60fps; Gyro-EIS front camera 1080p@30/60fps. Front camera 1080p@30/60fps.
    • Battery: 4500mAh, Fast Charging 65W, 50% in 13 minutes, 100% in 33 minutes (advertised).
    • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); NFC.

Both Master edition handsets are designed to be different and break new ground in design. These two handsets stand out thanks to the first concave leather in the industry. The Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa says that the chassis was inspired by the travel suitcase and hence the horizontal grid pattern.

Although it may sound confusing, we like Realme’s approach towards feature disparity. The Realme GT 5G is the fastest chipset. If you prefer a balanced approach and a budget-friendly option, the GT Master will do the job. While the GT Explorer Master is the expert in photography, it’s worth considering the GT Master.

The best thing about this is that you won’t have to compromise on any of the options. The three flagship-grade devices all have the same display and feature 65W fast charging.

Unboxing the Realme GT Explorer Master & GT Master

The set of accessories includes the 65W charger, appropriate USB-A-to-USB-C cable, and protective cases. They aren’t transparent, however. They are soft-touch, matte rubberized, and fit comfortably.

The leather options had the same horizontal grid pattern cases, while the GT Explorer Master’s glass version has a flat design case. However, the materials are identical.
