Tecno has expanded its Camon 30 lineup once again with the launch of the Camon 30S. This addition follows the Camon 30, 30 Pro, and 30S Pro. While the Pro stood out for its 5G capability and Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chip, the 30S and 30S Pro stick with 4G, both powered by the Helio G100.
The Camon 30S comes in three configurations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB, with virtual RAM doubling the capacity for better multitasking. It features a curved 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, uses 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and supports 100% DCI-P3 color space, protected by Gorilla Glass.
One of its standout features is its IP53 dust and water resistance, and the touchscreen works even with wet fingers.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX896 sensor with OIS, paired with a 2MP depth sensor and dual-LED flash. The selfie camera, positioned in a punch-hole cutout, is 13MP and also equipped with dual-LED flash—a downgrade from the 30S Pro’s 50MP front camera.
Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos add to the multimedia experience, though the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack may disappoint some users. The 5,000mAh battery supports 33W charging, which is slower than the 70W charging on the original Camon 30.
Tecno has introduced color-shifting magic with the Camon 30S. The Blue variant changes from light purple to dark blue in sunlight, while other color options include Nebula Violet, Celestial Black, and Dawn Gold.
The Camon 30S is priced at PKR 53,000 in Pakistan (around $215/£165/€200) for the top 8/256GB variant. It’s also been spotted in Kenya and Mali, but sales haven’t started there yet.
With its competitive pricing and colorful design, the Camon 30S aims to stand out in the mid-range segment despite a few downgrades compared to its siblings.
