Trends in smartphone sales due to COVID 19 in Pakistan

    How COVID-19 Affected Smartphone Sales

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on people’s lives worldwide. Lockdowns have forced people to stay indoors, changing how they buy products, including smartphones.

During the lockdown, people have been doing productive activities at home. As a result, physical market sales of mobile phones have decreased while online sales have increased. People are now buying smartphones online, even importing them from other countries.

Before the pandemic, people in Pakistan preferred buying smartphones from physical markets, where they could examine the phone before purchasing. However, online sales have surged during the lockdown, and people are now buying smartphones from online mobile markets.

Online Mobile Phone Sales During COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online sales of mobile phones have increased significantly. People are opting for online shopping, and there has been a sudden surge in online mobile phone sales. Some mobile phones are even being shipped to Pakistan on orders, as they have become an essential device worldwide.

The ratio of market sales to online shopping varies across countries, depending on the severity of the pandemic. In countries with fewer COVID-19 cases, physical market sales are still prevalent, while in countries with stricter lockdowns, online shopping is the preferred option.

People are turning to online shopping as it is more convenient and accessible, especially during lockdowns when physical stores are inaccessible.

This has also affected the mobile phone prices, as the online sale has increased, the price also has a direct effect on it.

High Sales Graph of Smart phone users

There are challenges and a positive side to this situation. The sales graph of smartphones in Pakistan has increased during the pandemic as people rely more on their smartphones and laptops for work, education, and other essential activities.

With many people working from home, freelancing, or attending online classes, smartphones have become necessary for daily life.

People are making shipments for mobile phones from the foreign countries, and some are buying smart phones online from Pakistan, this has led to an increase in the online sale, and a decrease in worldwide market sales.
