The LG Velvet smartphone is expected to be announced on May 7. However, we already know most of the main features and specifications of the phone, thanks to LG itself. A day before the launch, we have some new live photos and an entire video look at the LG Velvet, courtesy of an eager customer who recorded everything. The phone was apparently on display in a retail store in South Korea. We now have more details about the phone, including the RAM and storage variant, the resolution of the display, and the fact that it will have IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

LG seems to have taken inspiration from OnePlus, as it officially revealed some of the critical features of the LG Velvet about a week ago. We know it will indeed have a 6.8-inch display, a Snapdragon 765G processor, a 48-megapixel primary rear camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel depth camera. A recent leak also revealed that the LG Velvet would support wireless charging.

The LG Velvet will have:
- A 6.8-inch full HD+ display, not a QHD+ display.
- Dimensions of 167.2 x 74.1 x 7.9 mm and a weight of 180g.
- A 16-megapixel selfie camera.
- 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with the option to add a microSD card up to 2TB.
- IP68 water and dust resistance.
- A 4,300mAh battery.
The design features slightly curved edges on the left and right sides of the display but a noticeable forehead and chin. It has a SIM card slot on top, a power button on the right, volume buttons and possibly a Google Assistant button on the left, and a headphone jack at the bottom.
The camera module on the back does not protrude much, and the back tapers slightly along the left and right edges. In addition to the Aurora Gray and Aurora White colours, there will also be Aurora Green and Illusion Sunset colour options.
Overall, the LG Velvet seems to have a good mix of features and design elements, focusing on a large display, water resistance, and storage expandability.
