WhatsApp launches new browser extension to make web Whatsapp more secure

After WhatsApp’s development team added support for simultaneous multi-devices in its beta version the company also announced the launch of a browser extension. It’s known as Code Verify and its sole objective is to ensure that the website version of WhatsApp is safe enough and that the entire encryption has not been compromised.

WhatsApp claims that since it introduced the multi-device feature, it’s seen an more WhatsApp logins via the web. The web application is naturally less secure against hacks. This is why Code Verify ensures the same degree of security as native apps running on Windows, iOS or Android.

The extension for the browser is a simple. It simply compares the hash code to the one sent to a secure and trusted Cloudflare. If everything is fine the extension will give you the green signal to carry on with your conversation.
