After iOS 16.2 was officially released to the general public, Apple began seeding the first developer betas available for iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, macOS Ventura 13.2, and OS 16.3. Users who have Developer Beta profiles can now download the latest versions by going to settings and clicking on the update prompt in the software.
The latest update for iPhone and iPad software, called iOS 16.3, has some new features:
- Security Keys: You can now use physical security keys (special devices certified by FIDO) to log into your devices and websites. This adds an extra layer of security.
- This Security Keys feature is also available for iPad (iPadOS 16.3) and Mac computers (macOS Ventura 13.2).
- Other new things in iOS 16.3 include an Apple Card Savings Account, Buy Now Pay Later with Apple Pay, a dedicated app for Classical music lovers (Apple Music Classical), accessibility improvements, and better data protection for iCloud users outside the US.
This iOS 16.3 update is expected to be officially released sometime in February or March 2023. However, be careful with trying pre-release beta versions, as they may have bugs. Always backup your device and data before updating to a new software version.
