Honor has started rolling out its latest software update, MagicOS 8.0, to its overseas devices. This new version of Honor’s user interface is based on Android 14, and it brings a host of new features and improvements. Several users on the Honor subreddit have reported receiving the MagicOS 8.0 update on their Magic5 Pro smartphones across different regions. The update also brings improvements to media editing capabilities, allowing users to edit their photos and videos more easily. Additionally, MagicOS 8.0 introduces an Ultra Power Saving mode, which is expected to provide longer battery life.
Security has also been a focus in this update, with the introduction of Parallel Space – a secure folder for storing apps, photos, and videos separately.
For users in China, MagicOS 8.0 also includes MagicLM, an on-device large language model with 7 billion parameters, which is currently exclusive to Honor’s Magic6 flagship devices.
