Nearly two years after its initial launch, Instagram Lite is no longer available and has disappeared from the Google Play store. The app was offered in 13 countries and had the basic features of the regular Instagram app in a much smaller size of just 573 kB (kilobytes), which is more than 50 times smaller than the full Instagram app. Some important things that were missing in the Lite version were direct messaging and IGTV videos. People who have the Lite version of Instagram are now being told to download the official Instagram app
Facebook has confirmed that it plans to revamp Instagram Lite based on user feedback and release a new version in the future. However, no specific timeline has been provided.
