Vivo X Fold4 Release Pushed Back to Later Date.

It seems Vivo’s next foldable smartphone might be facing a delay. According to Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, only one foldable device is being developed. If true, this means vivo won’t release a vanilla and Pro model in 2025, like it did this year with the X Fold3 series.

The upcoming X Fold4 is reportedly arriving later in the year than its predecessor. However, Vivo appears to be sticking with its focus on making foldable devices thinner and lighter, which has been a highlight of its foldable lineup so far.

Rumored specs for the X Fold4 include a 6,000 mAh battery with wireless charging support, IPX8 water resistance, and two ultrasonic fingerprint sensors—one for each display. Additionally, there’s mention of a three-stage camera button, which could offer more flexibility for photography.

On the back, the foldable will have a round-centered camera module housing a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP 3x zoom periscope telephoto macro camera. These features, combined with vivo’s emphasis on “extreme thinness,” suggest the X Fold4 will continue to push design boundaries for foldables.

While we’ll need to wait longer to see this device in action, it’s clear that vivo is aiming to refine its foldable experience even further.
