Vivo X200 Ultra launching next week

The Vivo X200 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most feature-rich camera smartphones of the year. Its official launch is scheduled for April 21 in China, and the company has gradually confirmed several core specifications, focusing on imaging capabilities, performance, display technology, and battery features.

At the center of attention is the 200MP periscope telephoto camera. This sensor is supported by an optional external accessory—a detachable 200mm super-telephoto lens built specifically for the X200 Ultra. The lens was recently showcased in a promotional image on Vivo’s official Weibo page, indicating a strong focus on mobile photography.

Vivo is also introducing its proprietary VS1 and V3+ imaging chips in this device. These chips are designed to manage pre- and post-processing tasks for photos and videos. Working alongside them is the main processor, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, clocked at 4.32GHz. This positions the phone competitively among other high-end flagships in the market.

It comes with a 6.82-inch display. According to the company, the panel is a 2K Zeiss Master Color display, most likely based on AMOLED technology. Vivo has mentioned the use of circularly polarized light for improved eye comfort. The display is protected by Gorilla Armour Glass and integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.

Battery performance is another key element. The phone houses a 6000mAh battery, supported by 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. Bypass charging is also available, which is designed to reduce heat during heavy usage while charging. This could be particularly useful during extended gaming or media use.

In terms of design, the X200 Ultra is 8.7mm thick. This makes it slightly bulkier than some other “Ultra” branded devices, but the build includes IP69 certification for water resistance—offering reassurance for those concerned about durability.

The global release of the Vivo X200 Pro has already provided some insight into the capabilities of this generation. As the X200 Ultra prepares to launch, more details are expected to emerge in the coming days, solidifying its place as a top contender in the flagship smartphone segment.
