Apple iOS 18.1

When Apple launched iOS 18 last month, many noticed that the headline Apple Intelligence features were missing. Now, we’re left waiting for iOS 18.1, which is supposed to bring the first wave of these AI-powered features. Unfortunately, not everything Apple teased back in June will arrive yet – some features are being pushed to 2025.

Still, it’s exciting to see what’s coming in iOS 18.1. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the update is set to release on October 28, and we should also see iPadOS 18.1 around the same time. Apple’s taking extra time to make sure the rollout goes smoothly, likely because they want to avoid major bugs and prepare their cloud servers for the influx of users eager to try out the new features.

It’s not just software we’re expecting. Rumors suggest that Apple will unveil new hardware on November 1. Rumored upcoming Apple releases include an entry-level 14″ MacBook Pro powered by an M4 chip, alongside premium 14″ and 16″ models, a redesigned Mac mini, an updated iMac, and a revamped iPad mini, a refreshed iMac, and a new iPad mini, all equipped with M4 chips. These announcements are expected to come at the end of October, just before the hardware release.

Looking ahead to 2025, Apple seems to have a lot in store as well. In the first half of the year, we’re anticipating new 13″ and 15″ MacBook Air models with M4 chips, a redesigned iPhone SE, refreshed iPad Air models, and even an upgraded AirTag.

There’s a lot to look forward to with iOS 18.1, but it’s clear that the most exciting features will be rolling out gradually. Still, this update feels like a step in the right direction, and we’ll just have to be patient as Apple continues to build on its AI ambitions.
