I recently learned that the Itel A80 is hitting the shelves in Pakistan, and if you’re on a tight budget, this might be worth your attention. As part of the Itel A series, it comes with basic entry-level specs, but for the first time, they’ve added a punch hole on the display, which gives it a more modern look.
The new punch hole design means the 6.7” screen is less obtrusive than the old notches. And that’s not all. While the previous Itel A70 had a standard 60Hz refresh rate, the A80 steps up to 120Hz, making everything from scrolling to animations much smoother. It’s still an IPS LCD with HD+ resolution (720p) and peaks at 500 nits brightness. Plus, it runs Android 14 straight out of the box with Itel’s OS 14 skin layered on top. The Unisoc T603 chipset isn’t a powerhouse, but it should handle day-to-day tasks without draining the battery too fast.
Speaking of battery, the A80 packs a 5000mAh cell, which supports 10W charging through a Type C port. The rear camera gets a nice bump from 13 MP to 50 MP, alongside an auxiliary lens. The front still has an 8 MP shooter. For an entry-level phone, it’s decent enough for casual snaps.
The A80 also supports SD cards and comes with 3 GB of RAM (with an additional 5 GB virtually). What really caught my eye is the 128 GB of built-in storage—quite generous for a budget phone. Oh, and it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which adds a touch of convenience. At Rs 22,500 for the 3+5/128GB model, it’s a solid option for those looking for affordability without compromising too much on features.
