Motorola begins distributing Android 15 beta to eligible smartphones.

To be honest, when we think of Motorola, we don’t usually associate it with “fastest updates in the industry.” In the past, the company has taken the time to push out the latest Android versions for its smartphones. However, that seems to be changing. The latest Motorola Edge 50 lineup now promises 5 years of major OS updates, and it looks like users won’t have to wait too long to get them.

Motorola is already rolling out the Android 15 beta to some of its Edge 50 Fusion units. While this might initially seem limited, I wouldn’t be surprised if other Edge 50 devices are also receiving the update. What’s interesting here is that Motorola is ahead of some of the bigger brands, like Samsung, in this regard.

Samsung, for instance, hasn’t even opened its beta testing for Android 15 yet, and the final version of OneUI 7 with Android 15 likely won’t arrive until early next year. On the other hand, with Motorola already testing its beta software in public, there’s a good chance we’ll see a stable version of Android 15 on its devices by the end of this year. Of course, that all depends on how smoothly the testing process goes and how quickly Motorola can fix any issues that pop up.
