Four months is a long wait for a phone that’s been on sale in China since June, but vivo’s foldable finally has dates attached to it. The X Fold 6 goes global on October 1, with India following five days later on October 6 at noon.
Both dates come from tipster Abhishek Yadav, and vivo hasn’t posted a teaser confirming either one, so treat them as a leak until the company says otherwise.
Why The Wait Was Longer This Time
Last year’s X Fold 5 reached India about five weeks after its China debut. This one has taken four months, and the reason seems to be scheduling rather than anything going wrong. The X500 series took vivo’s September slot, which pushed the foldable into October.
A global prototype, model V2559, turned up on Geekbench earlier this month, so the machinery was already moving before any dates leaked out.
What India Is Getting
Two configurations are tipped: 12GB with 256GB, and 12GB with 512GB. Colours are Nebula Teal and Prism Black, neither of which vivo sells in China, so those look like international-only finishes.
There’s a software split too. The global unit ships with OriginOS 7, while the Chinese version launched on OriginOS 6 Fold.
The Hardware, Unchanged From China
The spec sheet is the same one Chinese buyers have had since June:
- 8.02-inch folding AMOLED inside, 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen
- Triple rear camera with a 200MP main sensor
- 7,000mAh battery, 80W wired and 40W wireless charging
What Is The Price
In China the X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999, roughly $1,190. Indian pricing hasn’t been announced and reports suggest it could land above ₹1.5 lakh, which would put it against the Galaxy Z Fold line rather than under it.
Nothing official on price or availability yet. That usually arrives a day or two before launch, so early October should settle it.
