The brand new Vivo Y02, the younger sibling of the Vivo Y02s and the successor to Y01, has been revealed. The new model is designed with a minimalistic aesthetic and has a range of mid-tier specs at less than USD 100. The Y02 model is a possible option for Vivo’s Pakistani portfolio. Indonesia will be the first country to get this model.
Live photos showing the smartphone are circulated on the web, and Orchid Blue and Cosmic Grey shades are being showcased. Vivo Y02 has a 6.51-inch IPS LCD mounted on the face and does not melt the screen. It offers an HD+ resolution of 600 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. While the chassis is designed with a modern, premium design, the screen on top is a bit ordinary.
In Optics, Y02 bears a single camera configuration on the back with an underwhelming 8MP shooter. The uplifted silo has a metallic rim endowing it with a premium look. Its fuselage has a frosty matte texture and a glossy accent for that circular protruded disc. There’s a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies.
The latest 4G Vivo mobile’s processor remains a mystery. However, based on earlier leaks, it is believed to be a low-performance Helio P22. Paired with a subpar SoC, it will offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM in the heart of Y02.
It boots to the Lite Android platform (Android 12 Go), which comes with a 5,000mAh battery rated for charging at 10W. Instead of a port for Type-C, it plugs in via the MicroUSB pin.
As for essentials, the New Vivo Y-model sports a dual SIM configuration + SD card slot; in addition to 4G Voice LTE, it has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It lacks a biometric reader. It starts at 95$.
