Xiaomi unveils official visuals of the 15 and 15 Pro, ahead of October 29 announcement.

Initially, we thought Xiaomi would reveal the 15 series on October 23, but the actual date is now set for October 29 at 7 PM China time. The confirmation came from Xiaomi’s smartphone division president, Lu Weibing, on Weibo.

In the lead-up, we’ve been treated to some clear press renders, thanks to tech blogger Kartikey Singh. The Xiaomi 15 Pro will be 8.35mm thick and weighs 213g, making it 10g lighter than the Xiaomi 14 Pro. It features a Micro Quad Curved display with Xiaomi’s second-gen Longjing Glass, and the camera island has a sleek ceramic lens Deco design, according to Weibing.

The standard Xiaomi 15 will have a 6.36-inch display with super-slim 1.38 mm bezels, which might make it a serious competitor to the upcoming Oppo Find X8 for the thinnest bezels out there.

One of the more interesting updates in the 15 series is the switch to an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which should be faster and more reliable than the usual optical ones. Plus, it doesn’t need to light up your finger in low light, which is a nice touch.

The Xiaomi 15 series is shaping up to be one to watch when it arrives on October 29.
