Hands-On with Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra: What You Need to Know.

Samsung recently unveiled its newest tablets alongside the Galaxy S24 FE, but this time they kept the lineup to just two models: the 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S10+ and the larger 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. They’ve completely skipped the 11-inch version, which makes sense when you see the big gap between the S10+ and the Ultra in terms of size.

The Tab S10 Ultra is massive, and while it’s Samsung’s biggest tablet so far, it’s not drastically different from its predecessor. It’s slightly lighter, which is nice, but most of the changes are under the hood. The big story here is that Samsung has switched to a MediaTek chipset for the first time in its Ultra tablets, specifically the Dimensity 9300+.

This new chip is built on TSMC’s 3rd gen 4nm process, and with its four Cortex-X4 cores, it offers an 18% speed bump over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that was inside the Tab S9 Ultra. The graphics performance is even more impressive, with a 28% boost, and the new NPU (Neural Processing Unit) is 14% faster, which opens up possibilities for all the new AI features Samsung is pushing across its devices. You get features like Circle to Search, Sketch to Image, and Note Assist, which is part of Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite.

The display on the Tab S10 Ultra is truly exceptional, boasting impressive visuals. It’s a 14.6-inch OLED with a resolution of 1848×2960 and a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The anti-reflective coating is a nice touch, too, making it easier to use in different lighting conditions.

Like the previous models, the Tab S10 Ultra comes with an S Pen, which is perfect for creative tasks and productivity. The pen comes with a button to bring up the S Pen menu, and the large screen gives you the space to work with. Samsung provides two distinct keyboard cover options specifically designed for this tablet. The €230 Book Cover Slim is a solid option that magnetically attaches, and includes function keys, integrated S Pen storage, and an AI button. If you’re willing to spend more, the €390 Book Cover Keyboard offers a glass trackpad, backlighting, and more flexibility.

As for pricing, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starts at €1,339/£1,199/$1,199/INR 108,999 for the 12/256GB model. For enhanced performance, consider upgrading to the 12/512GB or 16GB/1TB configurations.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is a powerhouse, and with its size, performance, and features, it’s a great option for anyone looking to do serious work or creative projects on a tablet.
