600mAh doesn’t sound dramatic. But squeezing a 5,000mAh cell into a device that weighs the same 215 grams as last year’s Z Fold7 — that’s a genuinely difficult thing to pull off, and Samsung apparently managed it.
That’s the claim from Ice Universe, who’s been steadily feeding out details on Samsung’s upcoming foldable lineup. The Fold8 Ultra, per the tipster, matches the Fold7’s weight exactly while carrying the bigger battery and 45W fast charging — described as faster than what the Fold7 offered.

Thickness gets a trim too. At 4.1mm unfolded, it’d rank among the slimmest premium foldables available right now. Screen sizes and most other dimensions are expected to stay close to the Fold7, so the meaningful changes are mostly internal.
Ice Universe also dropped a side-by-side of the wide-screen Galaxy Z Fold8 next to the Fold8 Ultra — useful for seeing where Samsung’s actually drawing the line between the two models design-wise this cycle.
Both are reportedly landing at a July 22 event alongside the Z Flip8.
